FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is CBD?
CBD is short for cannabidiol, one of the two principle active components of the hemp plant family. Is CBD Oil legal in the UK? Yes, provided that the CBD Oil contains less than 0.1% THC (which ours does) Will CBD make me feel high? No, CBD is not psychoactive. You cannot get high by consuming our CBD Oil Is CBD the perfect medicine? UK law does not permit CBD oil to be described as a medicinal supplement despite the growing empirical evidence suggesting that it functions like one. Thus CBD oil can only be offered for sale as a dietary supplement. CBD WORKS WITH YOUR ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM.
The endocannabinoid system plays a huge role into maintaining many essential homeostatic functions within the bodies of all mammals, including pain sensation, mood, appetite, sleep and memory. THC acts principally on the CB1 receptors found in the brain which accounts for its’ psychoactive effect. CBD acts principally on CB2 receptors found throughout the bodies of all mammals in their endocannabinoid system. Our bodies have more CB2 receptors than the sum of all other receptors including for example, serotonin and dopamine, etc. What is the percentage of the Feelgood CBD oil?
It is 3%. It is possible to get high concentrations of CBD (and simultaneously low THC) by using fairly aggressive, high heat/high pressure methods of extraction, BUT this is always at the expense of the overall quality of the resulting oil. High temperature fractional distillation can provide a 99% pure CBD oil (in other words just CBD). Supercritical CO2 extraction requires high pressure AND high temperatures. Both of these processes DESTROY the many terpene components of Cannabis Sativa which all have much lower boiling points, so these terpenes vaporise off before the CBD extraction is complete. The terpenes are a very valuable part of CBD oil, each having powerful remedial properties in themselves. Some CBD oil manufacturers try to get around this problem by adding terpenes into the cbd oil after the extraction. In fact there is a growing market for cannabis terpenes for just this purpose! Cannabis is a very complex plan - huge amounts of research worldwide is currently taking place. New terpenes and cannabinoids are frequently being discovered. It is very difficult to determine the quality of an isolated product. We have expressly chosen to use a holistic methodology which preserves as much of the beneficial constituents as possible. What are Terpenes and why are they so important? The cannabis plant naturally produces around 200 different kinds of organic hydrocarbon compounds known as ‘terpenes’ We believe that a holistic ‘whole plant’ oil is much more beneficial than a single chemically extracted isolate of cbd. Therefore we are very careful to preserve the terpenes in their entirety when making Feelgood CBD Oil.
Some of the principal terpenes and their properties include: Myrcene: a potent analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and antimutagenic Pinene: used in medicine as an anti-inflammatory, expectorant, bronchodilator and local antiseptic Limonene: suppresses the growth of many species of fungi and bacteria. May be beneficial in protecting against cancers and is currently undergoing trials in the treatment of breast cancer Caryophyllene: An anti-inflammatory and a functional CBD agonist. It is the only terpinoid known to directly activate a cannabinoid receptor in the body. Linalool: an immune system booster and anti-inflammatory on a cellular level. The well-researched ‘entourage effect’ indicates that the benefits of CBD become much more effective in conjunction with the many other compounds naturally occurring within the whole plant This is why we are so very careful to ensure that the fragile terpenes are extracted completely intact within our Feelgood CBD Oils. We will never use an extraction process which destroys the terpenes. |

Current UK law only permits is to describe and sell CBD Oil as a food supplement. However, as a food supplement, our CBD Oil may be very helpful for those with the following conditions: * Arthirits including Osteoarthiritis and Rheumatoid Arthiritis * Muscular pain including Spasticity and muscle cramps * Anxiety and Depression * Assistance with Chronic Pain relief * Epilepsy * Migraine * Period Pain * Psoriasis (as an oral supplement and also when used topically to help reduce skin inflammation) * Acne * Hypertension * Help with cancer related conditions * Diabetes What is decarboxylation and is it important?
There is a lot of misunderstanding concerning this subject. Hemp and Cannabis plants naturally produce CBD-A and THC-A. These are known as ‘acid precursors’. CBD and THC have entirely different receptor mechanisms within our bodies. For instance, THC (which we are not interested in) can only produce its’ psychoactive effect if it is decarboxylated and converted from THC-A to THC by a process of heating the plant material at high temperature. CBD however, does not have a psychoactive effect. Heating CBD to decarboxylate does not increase its bio-availability in the body. Heating CBD simply destroys the valuable terpenes. Having said all this CBD-A naturally converts to CBD over a period of time. This is why we ‘cure’ our plant material at room temperature for at least a month before extracting the CBD. In this way, you get the best of all worlds – naturally decarboxylated CBD together with all the essential terpenes. How do I take FeelGood Essentials CBD oil?
A little goes a long way. We recommend you take six drops once or twice daily. Six drops will provide 10 mg of pure CBD. It is important to put the drops under your tongue and wait a minute before swallowing. This is called ‘sublingual’ administration and is the most effective and beneficial way for your body to absorb CBD into your system. |
How do I store FeelGood Essentials CBD oil?
We recommend storing your Feelgood CBD Oil in a cool place out of direct sunlight but not in a fridge. If you do store your CBD oil in a fridge, the oil will naturally thicken but will completely revert back to liquid form by simply leaving the bottle out at room temperature for a while. Is it possible to travel with CBD?
CBD is legal throughout the European Union, however we still recommend caution when travelling with it. There is a chance that airport staff may confuse it for illegal cannabis products and seize it. You should be mindful that probably not everyone who works in an airport will be aware of the legality of CBD, but everyone will know the illegality of cannabis in general. When travelling outside of Europe we strongly recommend not travelling with CBD. |
Can I cook with FeelGood Essentials CBD oil?
Yes, if you prefer, you can add it to your favourite recipes. You should be aware that some of the terpenes will be lost in the cooking process. |
